JESUS the MESSIAH.

The reality of who was Jesus?
FIRST:
Torah:

(The following verse is God talking to David about Solomon)” I will be His Father and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. (Chronicles 17:13)

Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which can not be measured or counted. In the place where it is said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living G-d. (Hosea 1:10)

The kings of Israel are referred to as sons of God because they are to be His representatives, ruling in his place on earth over His people.

“I said, You are Elokim; you are all sons of the Most High” (Psalm 82:6 )

We see that Jesus only said a phrase that was commonly said by Jews in his days, and Jesus did not claim to have a monopoly on son-ship with God. We are all God’s children, Jesus is not the only one and never claimed to be the Begotten one.

SECOND:

1.If God came down to earth as a man, one would expect that after the end of His life on earth, and upon His return to heaven, He would be One being not two. This is not in agreement with the following verse:

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God” #9 (Mark 16:19)

This verse, which speaks about Jesus after he was raised up into heaven, clearly indicates that God and Jesus are not one being, for how can God be sitting on the right hand of Himself?!!

2. “…………and he often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed” #10 (Luke 5:16)

“And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up on a mountain by himself to pray” #11 (Mathew 14:23)

These two verses which speak about Jesus are of great significance. How can Jesus be God if he was worshipping God as any other mortal? Who is he praying to?

The Church may well suggest that Jesus was only praying in a symbolic manner so as to teach the people how to conduct prayer. This argument is nevertheless unacceptable because the words “wilderness” and “by himself” indicate that at those specific times, Jesus was all on his own while praying. He could not have been teaching anybody!

THIRD:

Jesus himself admitted, on numerous occasions, that whatever power he had was given to him by God. Consider the following verses:

“I do nothing of myself” #44 (John 8:28)

“I do as the father has commanded me” #45 (John 14:31)

It is quite clear from these verses that Jesus is not speaking about himself. Clearly he is speaking about the Almighty God whom he worships. Beside acknowledging God’s authority, and after performing such miracles, Jesus often prayed and thanked God for giving him such powers. In John’s gospel, and after raising Lazarus, Jesus said:

“Father I thank you that you have heard me, and I know that you always hear me.” #46 (John 11:41-42)

If Jesus is God, who is he thanking?

FOURTH:

Did Jesus make statements regarding his status, the words, the will and the power he used ? Let us find out.

WORDS

Joh 7:16 Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

Joh 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

Joh 6:38 “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Lu 22:42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

POWER

Joh 5:30 “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

Joh 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.

KNOWLEDGE

Mr 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Mt 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Joh 7:16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me;

STATUS

Mt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Mr 10:18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.

8:50 “And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges.
